My 4 week old duckies are growing so fast! They are about a foot long now and getting their feathers. They are beautiful creatures!
But then they got into my garden! And started nibbling on my tender shoots of corn, and budding broccoli heads, and chinese cabbage, and all my lettuce... !WAIT!... where are my pea greens?

And this is what my broccoli SHOULD look like... |
And so...
I went to Lowes and bought 2 big rolls of green
Garden Fencing, 50 feet each and strung it along the long sides of my garden beds. I need one more roll to finish it.
Now my tender plants can grow! Oh... and I forgot to mention that the dog and cats are also digging in my garden beds! My poor tender cucumber shoots!!!!
Now, all critters can stay OUT OF MY GARDEN! Well... at least they will after I get that last roll of fencing.....
Sorry to hear that they went to town on the garden. But they are... really ... cute. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Meems! Just got to finish the fence then my garden will be safe! On the plus side... they have been gobbling up lots of grasshoppers!
ReplyDeleteOh... they are soooo cute! Too bad they gobbled the seedlings but I certainly loved the photos.
ReplyDeleteHi Toni, I just love this post. It is the cutest and love all the effort your putting in to having an organic garden. I hope you don't mind, but I shared it on my Thyme Square Gardens FB page today for Wildlife Wednesday ;) xxooxx
ReplyDeleteHi Pammy! I don't mind at all! I consider it an honor that you would want to share my post! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy ducklings are a dream come true! It's taken many years to get them... and I have to say that I'm loving it!
Every day I teach them to hunt out grasshoppers, my biggest gardening challenge.
