Here comes the warmer weather!

Happy Mother's Day to all my gardening friends!!!!

What a beautiful sunny day here today! We're heading into a warming trend this week with temps in the high 50s and into 60!

I will plant some more peas tomorrow.

Last weekend was our town's Spring Rodeo! I sent my 12 year old off with my camera. He took that cool photo of the cowboy boots with spurs! Thought I'd share that cool photo with you!

Why live in Wyoming?

A BIG welcome to Roy Jensen! Thanks for following my blog!

Ribbit asked WHY I would chose to live in Wyoming. She mentioned in jest that we have 2 months without snow a year! Sure seems like it! You should stop by her blog, btw... she has a baby tomato!

I'll tell you... these Spring snow storms and this cold weather is making me wonder...

No, honestly... It's so pretty here! And... usually... the weather is better! But come on now... SNOW IN MAY?

I love the mountains! We live in a beautiful basin surrounded by mountain ranges. And the Bighorn Canyon is less than 30 minutes away... and the Pryor mountains are just down the street. But most of all what I cherish (keeping in mind that I'm from the Boston area!) is the QUIET!

Winter Wonderland....

As I sit here all warm and toasty and gaze out the window at the winter wonderland, I can hardly believe that it is May!

The ground is covered with snow and it's windy and cold out there!

My garden beds are all covered in snow! When it melts, I'll plant some more peas!

I'm hoping that my radish sprouts survive the freezing weather. It's 27 degrees now with a projected high of 38!

OK... which one of you out there is hogging all the Spring warmth?

Cool video about seeds

I was looking at a recipe for homemade Italian meatballs when I saw on the side bar of this site a video link about composting... which then turned into this cool video about seeds...

I'll post it here to share with you... and I'm hoping to come back to watch it again!

Spring snow brings...

Not much going on here... Hoping the warmer weather comes back! The coldest night time forecast says 31 degrees... that's not too bad.

The Spring blizzard on Thursday left us with much needed moisture and after the fluffy 3 inches melted... the grass turned green! Our trees even enjoyed the moisture... will have leaves soon!

I'm seeing some radish sprouts popping up in this bed! Yeah!!!

A gardening newsletter that I received suggested this book... looks interesting.

Pole beans

I'm trying some pole beans this year. The seeds that I've planted inside are sprouting! Makes me so happy to see little sprouts!!!!

A couple years ago I had this awesome gazebo outside. We bought it at Lowes. I love being outside and it gave me the opportunity to have an outside office.

Well... then the wind came one early spring... and THAT was the END of my gazebo. We learned many lessons from this experience... most importantly... BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES!

If I ever get another one... we'll have to make a cement foundation for it to keep it in place during high winds... or maybe make one of wood.

So, down came my gazebo. I kept the corner supports!

Guess what? I've decided to attached them to the corner of a couple of my boxes and will use them to grow my Pole Beans!
