Our first RED tomato!

My little  harvest includes a beautiful little RIPE red Roma tomato!  Now... let me explain... because this is REALLY early (in northern Wyoming) to have a RED tomato!

I bought all my (92) tomato plants from a local greenhouse.  Many of the plants had tomatoes growing!  A few warm days in the 90s and wham... one little red tomato!

My little harvest includes: 1 small Roma tomato, 3 baby carrots, a few pea pods and a few little spinach leaves.... through my bounty into my Vita Mix with some frozen fruit for a delicious smoothie this morning!

  1. Wow! A red tomato already! We have no red tomatos left, but soon, very soon! Your carrots look great! Ours are tiny stubs. I think it's our soil, not great for carrots.

  5. Blossom end rot hit my romas like crazy this year! All the other varieties seem to be doing well, although I do have 1 filled with cracked fruit but that is my fault. Your carrots look great!

  6. Ditto congrats on the first red one. I'm still at pink, so red can't be too far away.

  7. Goodness. 92 tomato plants? And I thought Granny was crazy for her almost 50. I bet you will get a fabulous harvest. And congrats on number one.

  11. Congrats on your first red tomato! Wow, 92 plants? You must be selling them, canning them, or have lots of friends. Or a combination of all!

  12. The first harvest is always so much fun, isn't it? Congrats on your first red tomato! I'm also thoroughly impressed by your 92 plants. I started out with just 4 plants this year (not counting the two that, um, went to plant heaven), and I can't imagine trying to trellis/stake/cage as many as yours. You have my respect!
