My garden loved the rain last night!!!
Carrots are sprouting, cucumber plants are getting their second set of leaves, spinach is almost big enough to pick off a few leaves, peas are starting to climb...

I was out early this morning pulling some weeds and admiring all my baby plants!
And now... a tour of my garden!
The soil looks terrific, nice and rich.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, you go from snow to grow real fast, don't you? :-D
ReplyDeletehow do you space your giant pumpkin plants ? I planted some (I'm adventurous what can I say) but mines are all over the yard
ReplyDeleteThanks Stefaneener! I used Mel's square foot garden recipe of 1/3 peat, 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 compost.
ReplyDeleteHi Granny, yes we sure did! Thank goodness!
Hi Gaby! There were only a few seeds in the packet. We planted them all in a 3 foot square box. My 12 year old son and I planted the seeds together.
I think that we spaced the seeds out about 4 inches.
The pumpkin box is on the very end of the garden so I'm going allow the vines to grow out toward the pasture side of the house.
