I got a lot of planting done on Memorial Day!
Into my Square Foot Garden:
40 Tomato, mostly Roma... but a few Cherokee too.
36 Pepper Plants, Jalapeño, Habanero, Bell
8 Kale
4 Eggplant
Recently, I've also planted:
20 squares of Royal Burgundy Beans
Because root vegetables do so well here, we decided to dig up the ground, amend it a bit with compost, and plant a bunch of Potatoes!
Next up... Radishes & Greens!

Hey Toni, you're back. I've been missing your Wyoming garden updates. Last year was a bust for me. Storms wreaked havoc in late May and early June which destroyed my entire garden so I didn't really get any harvest last year. This year has been a good year so far. I held back a second and third planting just in case of extreme weather again this year. While other parts of the country are drowning, here in Nebraska the moisture is above average but not enough to be harmful to gardens. Now I'm left with what to do with many more tomato and green pepper plants than I normally plant. I'm going to plant as many as I can and hope for the best. So far I have 24 tomato plants with more to be planted and maybe a little less on the green peppers. One entire bed of green beans didn't sprout so I dug it up and replanted. I'm not sure what that's all about. My backyard green bean bed is up and growing like crazy. Potatoes and the six tomatoes I started in buckets in my basement are in bloom on the way to making tomatoes. The two cherry tomatoes are almost ready for the clusters to start turning red. So, yeah, let the gardening begin.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your 2014 garden. Total bummer! I had shoulder surgery schedule for fall 2014... so only planted a few things... my garden boxes were pretty sad!
