Baby it's cold outside....

Yesterday I walked outside to get the truck started and commented to my son... it's not that cold out today... kind of warm.

When we got into the truck I happened to notice that the temperature readout said 0! Yes ZERO!

Now... that's pretty bad when ZERO feels balmy!

We're just coming out of a cold weather streak of below zero temperatures... going to be in the 40's the next couple days... shoot... we'll be out in sweatshirts!

Hope that you're keeping warm!!!! Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

Giving Jelly as Christmas Gifts

I've started giving away Jelly as Christmas Gifts. Homemade Jelly makes such a great gift... and everyone loves it!!!!

That's why I make bunches and bunches of it every year!

I still have a big box of apples in cold storage. They'll keep for a while, so... unless I run out of Jelly to share... I'll wait to process them into apple jelly & apple sauce until January.

Over on Dan's Urban Garden Veggie Blog, he posted some yummy apple cider/apple jelly recipes... Go check them out if you have apples still left to process.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah dear Gardening Friends!

On a sentimenal note...
I want to tell you how much I have enjoyed reading your gardening blogs... learning from your experiences... sharing the joys... and sometimes frustration of gardening! Thank you for the time that you put into your blog and... for stopping by my blog too!

24 degrees below zero...

We have a dusting of snow on the ground that will probably stay with us throughout the winter months... or it might just blow away...

I'm reporting to you from the frigid weather of northern Wyoming where it was -24 this morning and now... mid-morning... has warmed up to a balmy -10 degrees... yes... farenheit!

Very very cold! Ususally we have this weather for about 2 weeks mid-January.

If I were blessed to have a greenhouse... it would most definitely need to be heated!!!

Well, Christmas carrols are playing on the radio... the geothermal heating system is wonderfully sucking warmth from the ground (6-7 feet down!)... and the house is cozy while I tape wallbaord seams... and mud screw holes!
