all the way back in 1993!

We've been slowly unpacking boxes from our move in 2003 (MA to WY).  We've finally gotten our new home to the point that we can do this...

So, my husband says to me... "I found your seed box."  OK... so I open the black file box... and there were seeds!  Some dated back to 1993!

Wow... 1993!!!

  1. So... are you tempted to plant them to see if any will grow?

  3. When my mom was moving many many years ago, she came across a box full of seeds from my dad's garden. She tossed them. I sure wish I could have them now. Even though they wouldn't be any good, it would be interesting to see what he grew in his garden. I think that would be neat.
I wasn't interested way back then............

  4. You could always plant them thickly in a flat. That's what I do with my elderly lettuce seeds! Enjoy -- you've been at this for a long time.

  5. I'm wondering the same thing about their germination rates. I guess it depends on whether the seeds were kept in "good" conditions for seed storage? I have read that some seeds could last over 10 years, if they are kept well, but 1993, hmm, that's over 17 years ago, so I don't know about that!
