I set up Cold Frame #1 today! It was a beautiful sunny afternoon in the 60s here in northern Wyoming.
I'll be growing micro greens...

Cold Frame #1: will be growing micro greens... spinach, kale, peas, lettuce |
I put gravel in the box as well as some large rocks that were warm from the nice sunshine today.
|
Cold Frame #1 all cozied up for the night... |
Then I covered the box up with my fish insulation topped with the window.
Wish me luck!
Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOh, you're gonna love the coldframe! I think they are so neat to garden with...
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog, Toni! I've been a fan of your hoop houses and the house you're completing for your family....for some time now. I especially like that we have that similar growing zone...and that we like to extend that as far as we can ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been reading about your fish insulation. We have a PetCo here in Cheyenne. The other night my husband said you need a little foam around the cold frames. Today I'm thinking FISH INSULATTION. Weekend trip to PetCo is on my list! BTW my veggies moved from the garden to the cold frames are doing well. The cabbage in the green house is thriving. Lets keep our collective fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Christine! That's a great idea to put some fishy warmers around your cold frame! I was to Walmart the other day and they were unpacking fish... and I so wanted their fishy warmers... but no one was around to help me...
ReplyDeleteThat's great that your veggies are doing well! Have you posted any pictures on your blog about it?
Christine, sign up for a free sample of my green cleaner! You'll love it!
