That's a great idea. I've been stinting the front squash and I can see the problems. We're NOT going to get rain -- it's just me! I hope yours comes through quickly.
I wish you luck with getting some rain. Though we haven't had much this summer, it's at least cool. Temps in the 90's just "cook" that moisture right out. Water. Water. Water. Ugh! :)
I'll bet a good drink combined with the cooler weather coming will help perk them right up. I bought a moisture meter ($6 at Ace) last year and while I don't completely trust it, I've found it really is helpful to know if there's more or less moisture under the surface than I thought there was.
